Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Long before there was a studio, a record label, or a vision for a music company, there was simply a kid who loved to sing to himself. That passion eventually grew into songwriting, performing, producing, and ultimately the creation of John Moise Music Group.
This is the story of how it all began.
Growing up, music was always present in my life. I found myself constantly singing melodies, creating rhythms, and exploring different sounds. While many people discover music later in life, my connection to it started as a child. I was fascinated by how music could communicate emotions, tell stories, and connect people from different backgrounds. Even then, I knew music would play an important role in my future. As I grew older, that passion expanded into writing poetry and learning to play the piano. These creative outlets helped me understand the power of words, melody, and rhythm working together.
At the age of fourteen, I wrote my very first song. It wasn’t about fame, money, or success. It was simply about hanging out at the mall and enjoying life with friends. Looking back, that song represented something much bigger than I realized at the time. It was the moment I discovered that I could take an idea from my imagination and turn it into something real through music. That experience sparked a creative journey that continues to this day.
As my passion for music grew, I continued developing my skills and knowledge. I attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where I gained valuable experience and exposure to the creative arts. During my college years, a friend and I performed hip-hop music at a club in Miami. Those performances taught me important lessons about stage presence, audience connection, and the energy that comes from performing original music. Standing in front of a crowd and sharing something you created is an experience unlike any other. It reinforced my desire to continue building a career in music.
Around 2011, I was operating Momusic Studio, a creative business that offered a variety of services including music recording, photography, graphic design, web design, artist management, and consulting. Running the studio allowed me to work with artists from different backgrounds and musical styles. Over the years, I had the opportunity to work with more than fifty artists, helping them develop their music and bring their creative visions to life. My role often extended beyond recording sessions. I found myself producing, engineering, mixing, mastering, writing songs, and providing guidance to artists who were trying to navigate the music industry. Those experiences became some of the most valuable lessons of my career.
Like many independent creatives, one of my biggest challenges was balancing work and music. Building a business requires time, energy, and commitment. At the same time, creating music demands focus, inspiration, and consistency. Finding the balance between earning a living and pursuing creative goals wasn’t always easy. There were moments when responsibilities competed with creativity. There were times when progress felt slower than I wanted. But every challenge helped strengthen my determination. Instead of allowing obstacles to stop me, I used them as motivation to keep learning, improving, and moving forward.
The idea for John Moise Music Group developed while I was running Momusic Studio. Over time, I realized I wanted something more than simply recording music. I wanted a platform that represented my vision as an artist, producer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. I created John Moise Music Group for several important reasons.
First, I wanted the freedom to release my own music on my own terms. Second, I wanted to create opportunities that I didn’t always have access to during my early years in music. Independent artists often face challenges finding guidance, resources, and support. I wanted to build something that could help bridge that gap. Third, I wanted to build a legacy.
Music has the power to outlive us. Songs become memories, inspiration, and part of people’s lives. Creating a company that could continue growing beyond a single project became an important goal. Finally, I wanted ownership of my masters, publishing, and creative direction. Maintaining control over the music and the message has always been important to me. These principles became the foundation of John Moise Music Group.
One of the things that makes John Moise Music Group unique is the diversity of musical influences behind it. I listen to everything. Whether it’s R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Neo-Soul, Spoken Word, Gospel, Funk, or other genres, I enjoy exploring different styles of music. Every genre has something valuable to offer. Every artist brings a different perspective. Over the years, those influences naturally became part of my own sound. Instead of limiting myself to a single style, I embrace the fusion of multiple musical traditions. That openness allows me to create music that feels authentic while continuing to evolve creatively.
At its core, John Moise Music Group exists to create meaningful music. My goal is simple. I want my music to entertain. I want my music to inspire. I want my music to connect with people. Whether someone is celebrating a victory, overcoming a challenge, reflecting on life, or simply looking for a song that speaks to them, I hope the music can provide value and connection. Music has given me so much throughout my life, and creating music is my way of giving something back.
The journey is still just beginning. The long-term vision for John Moise Music Group includes expanding music releases, growing publishing opportunities, developing film and music projects, and reaching audiences around the world. I believe great music has no borders. As technology continues to connect people globally, independent artists have more opportunities than ever before to share their work internationally. My goal is to continue creating, growing, and building a catalog of music that can impact listeners for years to come.
When I wrote my first song at fourteen years old, I couldn’t have imagined where the journey would lead. From singing as a child and writing poetry, to performing in Miami, building Momusic Studio, working with over fifty artists, and launching John Moise Music Group, every step has contributed to the vision I have today. The road hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge, lesson, and experience has helped shape both the artist and the company. John Moise Music Group is more than a music label. It’s a creative platform built on passion, ownership, opportunity, and legacy. And this is only the beginning.
